What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the insertion of thin needles into specific sites on the body called Acu-points that benefit the body to return to its natural healthy functions. Practitioners in Ancient China discovered the body contains channels that usually pass through the head to toe that pertain to a specific organ. After consulting with the patient, the practitioner will be able concur which points he needs to use depending on the state of the patients qi, blood, body fluids, yin and yang. Naturally, our bodies will function in a healthy state. Sleep, diet, and healthy habits can all stray us away from our health if we under nourish or over indulge. Acupuncture stimulates the bodies natural qi, and slowly starts to regulate bodily functions. Patients are left feeling revitalized, relaxed and back to “normal”.
What does it treat?
The most common treatment people think of when they hear acupuncture is physical pain. Although very affective for pain, the best part about acupuncture is the vast diversity of disease and disorders it can help with. Mental disorders, menstrual disorders, digestive disease, and reproductive problems all have been treated with acupuncture effectively. Acupuncture can be thought of as a reset, or a recovery or a release that a person can use to deal with the stress of their daily lives.
